SHIT I'D LIKE TO PLAY
• I really like conflict brought about by character decisions and baggage. Even with established relationships, I really like it when there's still something to resolve. It makes the writing more worthwhile and juicy. (That said, I kind of don't want to put a bandaid on trauma because it can be fun to explore.)
• Mutual hurt/comfort (I'm okay with one character being more hurt than the other, but I'm not interested in playing 100% comfort nor making anyone else do the same).
• Tropes such as trapped together (in a small room, in a prison cell, in an icy cabin, somewhere hot, etc.), sharing body heat, fake dating, there's only one bed, and soulmates/soulbonds/soulmarks.
• PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN AU. Let him be Pirate King! I need him to go full chaotic pirate. (Dead Man's Chest >>>)
• I love RoW's ending, but I'd also like to explore an ending where Nikolai remains king despite everything and shows that he's the better Lantsov.
• His demon is a little more monstrous than what Bardugo allowed him to be. YA books water shit down so much.
• I'm really into Bridgerton S2 (that Kathony chemistry) and replicating that messy angst.
• Other than POTC, the only other canon I like doing full canon AUs into is The Hunger Games. Let him be a District 4 Victor who's ready to sail the fuck away and start a rebellion with all his magnificent ideas. Maybe Papa Lantsov threw him into the Games to teach him a lesson. I love the arena stuff.
